Laying the foundation for total health

In some ways, one could say that chiropractic care is a bit like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work together correctly. When building a house, if you tried to build your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually may even collapse. If you tried to build your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. These concepts apply to your body as well, and chiropractic care addresses many common reasons why people experience pain and other health issues. If something is not right with your body's foundation, than that needs to be addressed before true health can be achieved. With chiropractic care, your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care . . .

Chiropractic care has 3 main phases. Relief care, Corrective Care, and Maintenance Care. These phases are alike to building a house. Putting the roof on before the walls are up, will not be in your customers best interest. The same is true of chiropractic care plans.

Relief Care

If you come into our office in pain, then the first goal is to get you out of pain. This is Relief care. This is accomplished through specific adjustments to the spine, or extremities, and may be joined with other therapies such as electrical stim to speed the process along.

Corrective Care

During corrective care, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely. It can take 4-6 weeks for even a mild sprain/strain to heal completely. During this phase, specific adjustments are administered to ensure proper alignment while muscles and tendons are rehabilitated to better support the joint they surround. Rehabilitation can include exercises as well as stretches depending on the need of each individual patient.

Maintenance/Wellness Care

This phase is the best to be in. You are no longer in pain, and your body is stronger and better able to keep itself in alignment! This phase is most similar to going into the dentist for a check-up. Only periodic check-ups, or tune-ups as we call them, are needed to ensure that everything is aligned. We feel so strongly about getting everyone to this point, that we have a discount for getting to the Wellness Club!
